It's really fun to meet someone exactly like yourself. Because then one random Thursday night you end up at JCW's in a conversation somewhat resembling a therapy session. And you learn all kinds of new things about yourself.
For instance:
I don't make very good first impressions.
Lots of people think I'm standoffish and bossy.
I have odd desires to hike and fish.
I feel really loyal to a lot of things.
Some of them are good things to be loyal to. And others... not so much.
And something that I already knew:
I have THEE greatest friends.

SURPRISE!
I don't particularly like surprises. Okay, I like them when they are a LEGIT surprise. But Christmas and my birthday? The WORST. I hate the anticipation of something you know is coming, yet you don't know what it is. Hence, why I peek at my birthday presents, my Christmas presents, and everyone else's. :)
However, I LOVE surprising other people! So, this past weekend I took a quick trip to Texas to visit my very favorite pregnant lady and hear her senior violin recital. I was going to show up at 1:30 in the morning and completely surprise her, but somebody's husband spilled the beans 45 minutes before I landed... It's okay, Jonny, we still love you.

March Madness???
I filled out a bracket! Checked off the bucket list.
Unfortunately, I had no idea what I was doing.
I picked some completely random upsets, and some completely random not-upsets.
And I have Michigan State taking it all, as an ode to my roommate, Natalie.
Well, so far, so good.
I got the first eight games right, and Louisville is currently killing North Carolina A&T.
So, make that 9.
Not bad for my first time, eh?
In other news, my baby sister, Caroline, made Chamber Choir as a junior! Way to represent, Loline.
Got plans to see Lincoln in the dollar theater with the gardener on Saturday. Hmm...

Dear Old AF High
Currently I am sitting on the floor in the Midi Lab at American Fork High School. The AP Music Theory students are taking a practice exam. I just went through the whole thing to make sure I could get all the right answers... don't worry, we're in luck.
My favorite Mrs. Warby is out on "maternity leave" with her newly adopted new-born son. I offered to help out in her AP Music Theory and Chamber Choir classes. And let me tell you, it's been a blast.
Who knew teaching theory to 17 and 18 year olds could be so much fun? Chamber Choir yesterday was a bit of chaos, but man, they are a talented bunch of kids.
Yes, Elementary Music Education is my major, and I LOVE it. But I forgot how much I love being with crazy teenagers. Unfortunately my degree only qualifies me to teach choir through 8th grade.
Masters in Choral Conducting???
