... since the 7th grade

So, she and I tell people we've been best friends since the 7th grade.
That may or may not be true. Actually, it's not true.
We met in the 7th grade, but didn't become "best friends" til the 8th grade.
Regardless, we've been besties for a long time.

Yesterday, she was sealed for time and all eternity to her knight in shining armor.
It was such a happy day and they both had enormous smiles on their faces all day long.
I'm so grateful she found such a great guy that makes her so happy.

I'm gonna miss my roommate, but I'm ever so grateful for what a
positive influence she's been in my life.

I love you, Kirk.

HALFWAY, BABY!

Three days ago, this boy hit his halfway mark in the mish.

Anyone can tell how happy he is to be in Guatemala serving the Lord. Every letter he never fails to mention how much he loves his mission. In his words:

"I LOVE my mission and I have said it a billion times, but it's because it is true. I will never stop saying it, you will probably here me say in a billion more times, but I really do. I love being a missionary and putting my all into serving the Lord."

I could not be more proud of him right now.

honey bee : blake shelton

Girl, I been thinkin' 'bout us
And no, I ain't good at this stuff
These feelings pilin' up won't give me no rest
This might come out a little crazy
A little sideways, yeah maybe
I don't know how long it'll take me but I'll do my best

If you'll be my soft and sweet
I'll be your strong and steady
You'll be my glass of wine
I'll be your shot of whiskey
You'll be my sunny day
I'll be your shade tree
You'll be my honeysuckle
I'll be your honey bee

Yeah, that came out a little country
But every word was right on the money
And I got you smilin' honey right back at me
Now hold on cause I ain't done
There's more where that came from
Well you know I'm just havin' fun, but seriously

If you'll be my Louisiana
I'll be your Mississippi
You'll be my little Loretta Lynn
I'll be your Conway Twitty
You'll be my sugar baby
I'll be your sweet iced tea
You'll be my honeysuckle
I'll be your honey bee

Your kiss just said it all
I'm glad we had this talk
Nothing left to do but fall in each others arms
I coulda said I love you
Coulda wrote you a line or two
Baby, all I know to do is speak right from the heart

If you'll be my soft and sweet
I'll be your strong and steady
You'll be my glass of wine
I'll be your shot of whiskey
You'll be my sunny day
I'll be your shade tree
You'll be my honeysuckle
I'll be your honey bee

You'll be my Louisiana
I'll be your Mississippi
You'll be my little Loretta Lynn
I'll be your Conway Twitty
You'll be my sugar baby
I'll be your sweet iced tea
You'll be my honeysuckle
And I'll be your honey bee

I'll be your honey bee

Oh darling::PlugIn Stereo

You seem quite nice for a girl with good looks
And I’m the kinda fellow that’ll make you feel better when your life gets shook
So give it a chance according to your plans
I bet I'm not number one on your list to kiss, but please understand

You seem quite shy, but you’re oh so cute
And I’m the kind of girl that would love to be yours if you asked me to
So just take a chance, try to hold my hand
I swear I’d never let go
Just let me know if you’d be my man

I really want to come out and tell you
Oh darling, I love you so
If you’d ask me for my heart, there’s no way that I’ll say no
Oh darling, just take a chance please
So we can stay together till hell starts freeze

You seem quite right for a boy like me
And I wanna know would you treat me well
Would you treat me like a queen
Cause I’d like to show you and make you see
That although we’re different type
We were meant to be

I really want to come out and tell you
Oh darling, I love you so
If you’d ask me for my heart, there’s no way that Ill say no
Oh darling, just take a chance please
So we can stay together till hell starts freeze

So I gotta ask you,
I cant be afraid
I gotta take a chance at love
So what do you say

Oh darling, I love you so
If you’d ask me for my heart, there’s no way that Ill say no
Oh darling, just take a chance please
So we can stay together till hell starts freeze

it's finally here

I'm so excited about this.
I've been looking forward to it for a long time.
And it's finally here.
Come if you can.
It's going to be a party.
And then, the next morning.
I'm going to Cedar and St. George.
To party with my Music Ed peeps.
And see my little big sister.
And see my adorable cousins.
And see my amazing aunt.
Yes.

finding joy in the journey

I recently reread President Monson's talk "Finding Joy in the Journey" from October 2008. It really made me think twice about a lot of things. Here are some of my favorite parts - I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

"This is our one and only chance at mortal life - here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey - now."

"Stresses in our lives come regardless of our circumstances. We must deal with them the best we can. But we should not let them get in the way of what is most important - and what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. But we should never assume; we should let them know."

"Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved."

"When we choose not to focus on what is missing from out lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present - love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that brings us happiness - the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

"The ancient Roman philosopher Horace admonished, 'Whatever hour God as blessed you with, take it with grateful hand, nor postpone your joys from year to year, so that in whatever place you have been, you may say that you have lived happily.'"

"Despite the changes which come into our lives and with gratitude in our hearts, may we fill our days - as much as we can - with those things which matter most. May we cherish those we hold dear and express our love to them in word and in deed."

"Brothers and sisters, my sincere prayer is that we may adapt to the changes in our lives, that we may realize what is most important, that we may express our gratitude always and thus find joy in the journey."
