three.3.tres.3.trois.3.

I have three best friends. The three best friends in the whole entire world. Recently, these three best friends of mine have either left me or come home to me. The coming home stuff is really happy. The leaving stuff... not so much. But it's all for really good reasons, so that makes it a little easier on me.

Lindsay Kirksel Matheson
She's the one that came home. She was gone for such a long time. I managed to last a WHOLE summer without her. She really is my best friend and we've had some seriously good times together.

This was the day we got home from our LAST year at Girl's Camp. We were super sunburned and tired, but decided to go to a party at Evergreen. Then, we left early and went and got Cold Stone. Our signature.

This is when we went to Olive Garden with Ju and Holy. I think we took this picture 87 times because we didn't like it the first 86 times.

Wanna know how we met? It was in the 7th grade. We had Speech and Drama together and somehow this girl named Lindsay heard I was a pianist. One day she came up to me and said "Hey. I heard you were a pianist. So am I!" And I thought. "Weirdo..." Then I had to interview her and I had to talk super loud because her hearing was super bad... old woman. Then she came to one of my piano competitions and I was crying because I hadn't played very well and she came up to me and I thought "Why is this girl here? I don't even know her!" Well, then we became friends and guess what! She was a pianist. A really good pianist. So senior year of high school we went on choir tour to DisneyLand and we won these awards for being awesome pianists. Moral of the story, if a girl comes to one of your piano competitions and wants to talk to you when you're crying, let her. She's probably super nice.

She's my best friend. Deal.

Abigilian Richards
She used to get super mad when I called her that... hopefully she's over it.
She left me. Went to school. A long ways away. See, when I left, I only went 25 minutes down the road so I could come home and be her parental figure on weekends. But no, she had the audacity to go all the way to Cedar. Gosh, Abby. Thanks.

When Abby and I were little, we didn't like each other very much. Once, she threw a shoe at me and I ducked and it hit the shutters behind me and broke them. Sorry, mom. Well, in high school we decided to become the best of friends. Best decision we ever made.

Abby and I have oodles of fun together. This particular time Abby jumped on my back right when somebody took a picture. I almost fell over. Semi-frightening. But don't you fret, this is one adventure we did manage to survive.

It's funny, because we don't really look alike. People usually mistaken her for older than myself. So what she's five inches taller than me. We don't really like the same things either. She likes to pull people's teeth out, I like to teach little eight year olds how to play their major scales. She hasn't seen her natural hair color in years, I've vowed never to cover mine up. She likes the color orange, and I really, really don't.

We may be crazy, but at least we wear our seatbelts, right?

Elder Austin Keith Woodfield
Yes, you heard that right. Elder.
This dear person also left. He's going really far away for a really long time. But it's for, perhaps, the most important reason ever - to serve the Lord. Guatemala City is a seriously lucky place to be getting this boy for two years.

Prom senior year. We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving point, got rained on, saw maybe 16 zillion tulips and watched Tanner cut his hand trying to scale a rock wall. Austin drove the COOLEST Range Rover of all time and it beeped at us every time we got too close to the car in front of us. Then my dress decided to malfunction and I didn't wear my shoes the whole night. Best night of my life.

We were in a capella choir junior year together and then in chamber choir senior year. Me being a soprano and he being a bass, we could see each other from either end of the choir. We had a bad habit of wincing at each other every time something was out of tune. For the whole audience to see. Oops.

We like to sit in movie theaters after the movie is over until the cleaning person kicks us out. The most common word spoken in an everyday conversation ssh. He knows exactly how I like my ice and I know when he's not flexing. I got him his one and only purple tie and he bought me seaweed for my birthday. He draws me mazes and I fit under his chin. And we're both incredibly CDO.

Blink of an eye, elder.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I have the three greatest best friends anyone could ask for. I'm sorry that I take you guys for granted sometimes. You mean the world to me.

north.BREVARD.carolina

Hello my lovelies. In case you forgot: I'm in Brevard, North Carolina at the Brevard Music Center. It's up in the mountains with LOTS of bugs. It's incredibly humid and rains all the time. But it's very pretty, too. The best part about being at the Brevard Music Center is where I live. The entire camp is located on Andante Lane. We swim in Sonata Lake. The Library is on Orchestra Trail, and I live on Symphony Hill. My little sister lives on Rondo Road, and my good friend Natalie lives in Quartet Lane. No, I'm not joking. It's pretty intense if you ask me.

There's not a whole lot to do here. Which can sometimes be a good thing and sometimes be a bad thing. Bad thing: There's NOTHING to do. Good thing: I practice a WHOLE lot.

I've been here for 25 days - 19 to go. A little less than three weeks left. I've been having fun here, but I'm incredibly excited to go home. I live in a cabin with 17 other people and there's ants everywhere. Now, the things about these ants is that they are HUGE. and I mean huge. Like 5 times the size of the ants in Utah. MASSIVE. I found about a hundred of them crawling all over my clothes the other day. Super nastiest thing of my life.

I'm excited to see my family and all my friends. Yes - that would be you. I'm SO excited to see you! It feels like it's been forever. I've met some super incredible, awesome people. And I'm going to miss them so very much - but that means I to see you. So, I'm ok with it.

While everybody else is getting out of bed
I'm usually getting in it
I'm not in it to win it
And there's a thousand ways you can skin it

My feet have been on the floor
Flat like an idle singer
Remember winger
I digress
I confess you are the best thing in my life

But I'm afraid when I hear stories
About a husband and wife
There's no happy endings
No Henry Lee
But you are the greatest thing about me

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, Love
That's enough for me

Took a loan on a house I own
Can't be a queen bee without a bee throne
I wanna buy ya everything
Except cologne
'cause it's poison
We can travel to Spain where the rain falls
Mainly on the plain sounds insane
'cause it is we can laugh we can sing
Have ten kids and give them everything
Hold our cell phones up in the air
And just be glad we made it here alive
On a spinning ball in the middle of space
I love you from your toes to your face

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, Love
That's enough for me

You can move in
I won't ask where you've been
'cause everybody has a past
When we're older
We'll do it all over again

When everybody else is getting out of bed
I'm usually getting in it
I'm not in it to win it
I'm in it for you

If it's love
And we're two birds of a feather
Then the rest is just whenever
Then the rest is just whenever

If it's love
And we decide that it's forever
No one else could do it better
And if I'm addicted to loving you
And you're addicted to my love too
We can be them two birds of a feather
That flock together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, love
Got to have something to keep us together
Love, love
That's enough for me

not the best day ever..

So, today could have definitely gone better.

I got in a car wreck this morning. It was my fault. I rear-ended a lady.

I was on my way to work. I was on 7th East in Salt Lake at 13th South. I must have dozed off or checked out for like 5 seconds or something because I don't remember anything. The last thing I remember specifically noticing was going through the 21st South light. I know I didn't fall asleep because I made it all the way through the next light staying in my lane. I figure the 13 South light had been red and had just turned green and the lady in front me was just speeding up. The front my car went right underneath hers and killed my hood, front bumper, grate and radiator. I was only going about 30, maybe less, but it did some serious damage to my car. Luckily she was a very nice woman and wasn't really mad. Of course she was a little annoyed - I hit her car, but she called the police and he came. Luckily again the police man was very nice and helped me a lot. I signed a ticket for "failure to lookout" basically saying I'm guilty of hitting this woman, but I'm not guilty of falling asleep at the wheel. My ticket is $120 - then I have a $1000 deductible on my insurance, and probably $250 for the towing. But hopefully the insurance covers the towing. Oh! The best part about this story is my parents are out of the country right now. They're in the Cayman Islands with my two little sisters. So, when it happened I called my brother at home and talked to him. Then, I called my mom in the Cayman Islands (she didn't even know her phone worked) and talked to her. But, it took my brother about 45 minutes to get to me, so he called my aunt who lives in Bountiful and she helped me too.

Luckily, I wasn't hurt at all, the other lady wasn't hurt and her car doesn't look bad at all. She had to get it towed because the exhaust pipe was bent and up against her wheel, but were pretty minor damages. My car on the other hand... it looks really nice. It'll be in the shop for a little while.

I'm so lucky I had such great friends and family to help me out. I definitely would not have gotten through this day without my amazing brother. Also, my sister it handling very well the fact that I killed her car. My aunt was SO nice to drive up and help me. The other driver and the police man were as kind as could be. And, my parents have been great over the phone and through emails too. As upset as I am about this... I'm so grateful for the everything that went right today too. Nobody got hurt, the car is fixable and the insurance covers it.

Overall, it's been a rough day. But, the Lord was looking out for me and I have so much to be thankful for in the return.

we'll be a dream

do you remember the nights
we'd stay up just laughing
smiling for hours at anything
remember the nights
we drove around crazy in love

when the lights go out
we'll be safe and sound
we'll take control of the world
like it's all we have to hold on to
and we'll be a dream

do you remember the nights
we made our way dreaming
hoping of being someone big
we were so young then
we were too crazy in love

when the lights go out
we'll be safe and sound
we'll take control of the world
like it's all we have to hold on to
and we'll be a dream

when the lights go out
we'll be safe and sound
we'll take control of the world
like it's all we have to hold on to
and we'll be

when the lights go out
we'll be safe and sound
we'll take control of the world
like it's all we have to hold on to
and we'll be a dream

Don't Stop Believing I'll be able to fit all my stuff into ONE suitcase for six weeks in Brevard.

[summer]

Hi.

Sorry I'm such a bad blogger.

I haven't been on here in ages.

But I changed everything.

It looks different.

I think I kinda like it.

Anyway... let's get to the important stuff.

I LOVE SUMMER

So, right now I'm just working. Working, working, working. I actually don't mind it. It's not that bad. It's kinda far away though... I have a drive an hour to get there everyday. BUT. I'm getting paid a lot, so that makes it a little bit better. It's kinda a weird job. I ship "bundles of harp music, strings, and accessories" all over the world. (That's actually what we call them. I have to write it on green flappy stickers a lot.) It's kinda confusing really. Some go USPS. Some go UPS. Some get green flappy stickers. Some are called click n' ships. Oh, and I get to tune harps a lot. I have a big blister on my finger from it. But, it's kinda getting better. Hopefully it'll be a callus soon. Anyway, it doesn't get much more exciting than that. BUT. I get paid a lot. So, it's all good :]

Oops. Back up. BEFORE I got a blister and learned how to do green flappy stickers, I was in Cedar City. I babysat my adorable cousins for two weeks. Truman (3), and Tatum (almost 2). SO FUN. We played on the swings, and went to the park, and went to a baseball game, and played with the doggies, and went on bike rides, and went to McDonald's, and ate chicken nuggets, and watched The Lion King, and watched The Imagination Movers, and danced to music, and all kinds of things. It was the BEST.

My family has this odd habit of abandoning me. My big sister Natalie is leaving for France tomorrow, my little sister Abby left for Rome this morning, my mommy and my little sisters Caroline and Emily are in Minneapolis right now, and my brother doesn't live here. So. It's just my and my daddy. We're going to baseball game tomorrow. YES. Stoked. Guess who's gonna be there. Guess. Wrong. Truman and Tatum! How I miss my little buddies.

Saw Iron Man last week. Good movie. Just got back from Prince of Persia. Better movie. No really. It was really good. I liked it a lot. A lot a lot. AND. I only closed my eyes once. Which means it's not very scary. It's super cool instead. Go see it. I haven't seen Letters to Juliet yet. Need to get on that one.

I bought some new shoes today. I really like them.

Don't Stop Believing that it won't rain tomorrow so I don't have to be all wet and cold at my baseball game.

One down.. four to go..

So, freshman year is officially over. I finished up my last assignments this morning and I packed up my entire room and took half of it home. It's really over. I can't believe how fast it went. I've met incredible people, endured incredibly hard classes, and had an incredible amount of fun! Living in Heritage Halls has been as blast, but I'm definitely not going to miss the dorms. Foxwood next year, baby! We'll have cupboard space in the kitchen, and CARPET! Oh carpet, how I've missed you. Freshman year out of the way, over, done, the end. Four more years and it's over forever! I can't believe it. I'm already done with a whole year of college.

School's over for four months - that's the happiness. Sadness? Julie and Haley left today. Me and Kirk are leaving tomorrow. And then Kirk's gonna be gone for the whole entire summer. The WHOLE thing. Like all of it. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do without my bestest friend in the whole entire world... but I guess I'll survive.

Also, MY BROTHER'S GETTING MARRIED!!! To the most wonderful girl in the whole word. I couldn't be happier! I do happy dances randomly just because I'm so excited. September 3 is the day and tomorrow I'm going to try on bridesmaid dresses with my sisters. It's happening: my brother's getting married. Ah! I'm so happy.

Don't Stop Believing that the Boston Red Sox will clean up their act and win the
World Series this year.

I'm being forced

So, I'm being forced to create this blog by my two wonderful rooommates Holly and Lindsay. I'm definitely not a blogging kind of person, but we're going to be all over the country the summer and we want to stay connected and apparently facebook just isn't fun enough. So, here I am, making a blog.

Don't Stop Believing that someday Utah will have normal weather.
